FINANCIAL COORDINATOR, Office of Digital Learning (ODL), to join ODL’s financial team and provide financial support to several ODL business units including sponsored activity. Assist with coordination of pre-award activity; monitor expenditures for compliance with sponsor guidelines and in accordance with approved budgets for projects; prepare complex regular and ad hoc financial reports to monitor the financial performance of projects against budget; Inform and guide staff and managers on financial policies and procedures such as travel guidelines, reimbursement policies, sponsored and gift accounting policies, proposal submission requirements; oversee the monthly financial review and control; monitor account activity and resolve discrepancies and issues and drive operational efficiencies; handle procurement needs and process requisitions, approve invoices, RFPs, travel vouchers, credit card charges, prepare journal vouchers. Serve as a resource for faculty and staff on financial transactions; assist with year-end closing, and handle additional responsibilities as needed
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration preferred; a minimum of three years of experience; strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, time management, and organizational skills; ability to prioritize; attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; discretion with confidential information; strong customer service orientation; work with flexibility, and manage numerous projects with varying degrees of complexity; work as part of a team; identify and recommend solutions to complex problems; and operate effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with SAP, BrioQuery, and Cognos preferred. MIT experience would be helpful.
