Ferdi Alimadhi leads the Engineering department in the Office of Digital Learning (ODL), responsible for providing software development, tools, technical infrastructure and related services in support of digital teaching and learning, as well as distant education at MIT. A key focus is MIT’s implementation of the edX platform on campus at MIT.
He has experience in most areas of software engineering, technology and science. He has built applications that range from statistical tools to large scale web applications. Prior to joining ODL, Ferdi worked at Harvard University as Lead Application Architect where he created and led the OpenScholar project. He has also served as a software development consultant and architect for a variety of small and large companies.
Ferdi holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Tirana, Albania; a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam; and a Master of Liberal Arts in Software Engineering from Harvard University.
