In support of the Institute’s mission to make digital learning a priority at MIT, ODL has created a new community of digital learning innovators called the “MITx Digital Learning Lab”. The Lab is composed of Digital Learning Scientists and Digital Learning Fellows who play a critical role in advancing digital learning initiatives across MIT — specifically with MIT Faculty and Departments.
The MITx Digital Learning Lab is a collaborative program between ODL and MIT’s academic departments with a mission to learn, collaborate, and innovate on the use of digital learning on campus and beyond.
Members of the Digital Learning Lab (Digital Learning Scientists and Digital Learning Fellows) become the digital learning ambassadors in the departments, serving as primary liaisons between ODL and academic departments or initiatives; collaborating directly with faculty while guiding and supporting departments on digital learning strategies, and working with other fellows to build and develop digital learning projects.
Additionally members of the Digital Learning Lab work together as a community to support and share innovations across MIT. The community meets bi-weekly to share updates, trends, and hear from guest speakers from MIT and beyond. The community also supports each other in developing tools and techniques for course development and shares best practices.
