Biography

Aidan MacDonagh is a member of the Physics Education Group in MIT’s Department of Physics and a Junior Fellow in the Digital Learning Lab. His principal work supports the residential and online introductory physics courses: organizing the Open edX websites, developing content, and analyzing learner data. On the content side, work includes developing an 8.01x module introducing rotating reference frames and atmospheric physics, as well as writing a comprehensive set of learning objectives for pre-class online lessons. On the research side, published and ongoing work explores topics including the effects of limited attempts for online formative assessments, implementing self-assessment activities in a blended learning context, and checking consistency in exam grading at scale. He holds a B.S.E. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
