Biography

David Grimes is an Instructor and the Digital Learning Lab Scientist in the Department of Chemistry at MIT. As an Instructor at MIT, David supports introductory chemistry, teaches higher level undergraduate courses in thermodynamics, and contributes to a pedagogy course aimed at graduate teaching assistants. In the past, he has also taught undergraduate level quantum mechanics courses aimed at chemistry majors. As the Digital Learning Scientist and working with faculty in the Department of Chemistry, David develops online courses in chemistry and works to modify residential courses to include computational elements. David received his B.A in Chemistry in 2009 from Amherst College and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 2017 from MIT.
